Other Girls

There is never a worse feeling than when you finally have a crush on a guy and he is perfect for you, but then you find out every other girl also wants him. It’s not even jealousy, since he isn’t technically yours, but you still want him all to yourself. He gives you enough attention which makes you feel special, but little do you know that there are ten other girls he’s texting at the same time. He says he’s “keeping his options open,” but let's be serious, he just likes to hop around.

You get obsessed with him because he has his way of words and very much is aware of what he is doing. Completely oblivious to the fact that he is currently flirting with half the female population. It’s all fun and games until you find out that you aren’t the only girl he has on his roster. You hear multiple other girls talking about him and how they are practically in love with him. Your chance is now ruined, and you realize he won’t choose you.

Let’s say you finally find a guy who is perfect and actually wants you back. You find out about his exes and the constant thought of oh did he say this to her, appears in your mind whenever he says something relatively nice. It’s a never-ending cycle until the ex gets brought up, he reassures you she means nothing to him, and you feel at ease.

Reassurance is key and not all guys understand how much girls value it. Even if a girl doesn’t straight up say “I need you to reassure me that these other girls mean nothing to you,” a guy should be constantly reassuring a girl that previous girls don’t mean anything. It goes both ways; guys also need to be reassured that other guys who have entered your life don’t mean anything to you either.

We could literally be dating for three years, but if you tell me a girl comes up to you and asks for your number, you are going to have to assure me that you told them that you have a girlfriend and that she didn’t mean anything to you. It’s the way girls operate. And it’s worse because we know exactly what the other girl's perspective is since sometimes we are the other girl.
